personal terminator

9 martie 2007
de la personal jesus, piesa lui DM...

un spof mega-fannny TERMINATOR 3, de la Mad TV, THE GREATEST ACTION STORY EVER TOLD (pe vremea cind T3 era inca in viitor, in a.d. 2000), "what are you, a wise guy ?" (thanks, Moshe D.)

si ca Lena Headey e Sarah Connor in serialul TV The Chronicles of Sarah Connor, spin off la franciza, care face legatura intre T1 si T2.

Daca tie nu ti-a placut nu e neaparat naspa.

300 secunde din 300

5 martie 2007

la ei iese vineri, la noi pe 23, pina atunci pe MTV 5 min din film pt fanii hard-core...nu sunt spoilere, e una din cel mai kul sceen de action din graflickul (ar trebui sa pun copyright pe termen, GRAFLICK tm, dah), lui Zack Snyder...va fi un hit care-i va permite lui Snyder sa faca ceva k lumea din WATCHMEN...(oare o sa introduca si Tales of the Black Freighter?) hopefully as they say (we can only put our fingers on a dyke and pray)....the time is nigh

latest news on Snyder, Sucker Punch si noua lui companie de productie cu titlu teribilst Cruel and Unusual Films!!! quite so...."an 'Alice in Wonderland' with machine guns," bum shakalaka....suck on this !

asha, am vazut si Painted Veil /Valul pictat, dar Maugham aici (cine, Mowgly ?), Naomi Watts e shto dar mi-a lipsit King Kong si daca era blonda era kam la fel, same age, cind o plima letica prin jungla putea fi outtake la KK...film pt mama, si in genaral de gagici, widescreeen nice scenery si apare Capote (adica toby jones) si de nerecunoscut, Razbunatoarea, adica Diana Rigg e maica stareta...plus manciurianul, bulangiu ca de obicei...Initial rolul lui Naomi trebuia sa-l joace Nicole Kidman. iar filmul trebuia sa-l regizeze nemtoaica Caroline Link (Nowhere in Africa). Mult mai bine fara Kidman, Naomi ruulezz in rochitzele ei maughaniene, shi da, e cam idiot titlul romanului...

BGB&O (Joe Carnahan's first)

4 martie 2007
4 martie, 30 de ani de la cutremur shi io stau in centru...si s-a anunta eclipsa totala de luna aseara dar nu s-a intimplat nimic, decit ca am revazut THE RULING CLASS, pe disc de la Criterion (mega-capodopera, O'Toole was robbed then and now again), way ahead of its time

si primul film la lui Joe Carnahan, BLOOD, GUTS, BULLETS AND OCTANE strong>, din 1997, care are mai multe in legatura cu Smokin Aces (v. previous entry), decit cu Narc, facut studenteste si fara bani si cu mega tupeu si cu Cranahamn intr-unul din rolurile princnciple, cu doi car salesmani pagubosi isi o masina Pontaic cu un transport misterios in portbagaj, cu gunuri si pac-pac...

cel mai bine zice Ebert:

The story behind ``BGB&O'' is an inspiring fable for would-be filmmakers. Its writer-director-editor-star, Joe Carnahan of Sacramento, Calif., shot it in three weeks for less than $8,000 and cheerfully let it be known at the Sundance Film Festival that his cast and crew were paid ``partly in Doritos.'' Like Robert Rodriguez ``El Mariachi,'' the bargain price was enough to make a video version for showing to distributors; Lions Gate ponied up a reported $100,000 in post-production sound and transfer work to get the movie into theaters in 35mm.

What Carnahan made for his money is a fabulous calling card: This movie shows that he can direct, can generate momentum even in the face of a problematic story, and knows how to find and cast natural actors, including himself. There is real talent here. The most engaging aspect of the film is its spoken dialogue, which largely involves used car salesmen and seems inspired by David Mamet's realtors in ``Glengarry Glen Ross.'' (Consider this line: ``The best in this business are, by virtue, fabulous salesmen.'' Using ``by virtue'' without explaining by virtue of what is prime Mamet.)

intreaga cronica, aici...

BGB& O si a ramas in spatele camerei. aaaah si chiar el zice, "we all love and respect Tony Scott."

the ace of spades/Smokin' Aces

3 martie 2007
tocmai am vazut SMOKIN' ACES de Joe Carnahan, unul in regizorii in care am mai multa incredere decit Eli Roth sau Tarantino himself...bine ca n-a facut M:I 3...desi a facut best bit din M:I 3 in Smokin'.....

orice film care are un teaser trailer pe Motorhead-The Ace of Spades can't be but a classic :-), wow, ce fac acum, imi scriu urmatorul articol pt SS (Sapte Seri ?), yes, to be contd there...

anyway, rusine criticilor, mai ales englezii vad ca-s ofensati, poate asta e si ideea, de la Domino n-am mai fots asa exhilerated...excited, sick twisted fun, asha si amuzat de la Crank, care era guilty bad terrible inhaling junkie nephew of Domino, Carnahan e the better cousin of Guy Ritchie si chiar more adult...si fara kabala e revigorating

dead reckoning a lui Clint Mansell care-si reia tema din Requiem for a dream (Kronos q: Lux Aetherna), pe chitara, in shooting climax

soundtrack pounding, prodigy, john cale, iggy...lemmy....maan

& Morricone cu the good the bad in scena cu soldatul muribund mi s-a parut un omagiu ireverentios excelent...

it fuckin rocks ! really si oricine zice altceva n-am ce-i face...

cum zice un user...

"By far the most degenerate, twisted, psychotic action movie in a long time.....I absolutely loved it."

REACTIONS TO 'SMOKIN' 02/22/2007 at 09:41 PM
Guys:

I feel like we've been through this course a number of times, but let me
just overstate the obvious once more. The following isn't meant to function
as anything more than clarification:

1. The movie was designed to polarize. You don't place broad, dark comedy
against heavy drama unless you want to illicit a certain kind of response and
that response can very well be 'What the fu*k were you thinking!?' For me
it was a very deliberate artistic attempt...and one that will work for
some and fail for others. There's an old saying: 'No Hill For a Climber' if
you sit back and wonder what people will think if you take a shot at
something, then you're beat before the opening bell. What's the fu*king point,
if you don't try to extend yourself and your craft. I've been fortunate enough to
get into a position where this is possible.

2. This flick was never going to be NARC. nor was it intended to be. Again,
what's the point of filmmaking if not to stretch and try to define yourself
and your craft, differently, each time out. That's what I want to do. The guys
I admire, like Ang Lee and Steven Soderbergh, mix it up every time they go
out. Sometimes they hit it out of the park, other times they foul it into the
stands. It's their willingness to attempt different things and different genres
that makes them great.

3. 'Smokin' Aces' is exactly the movie I wanted to make. A clash of tones and
styles and variations. A mixing of all kinds of influences and filmic archetypes
to create something new or at the very least, seldom seen. The end of the
movie isn't meant to be a twist and was never intended as such. It's not
important who the hell the old man is, it's what the FBI did to their OWN
PEOPLE that matters in the end. I could give a sh*t about a twist
ending. If you don't have a clue as to who Sparazza is, before the finale, then
I blew it, because my intention was to let you in on it, early on.

That's all I wanted to say. I hope those of you that have dug the film have
really dug it and those of you that have hated it, have done so with all of your
heart. In the end, you can't ask for any more than that.

JC

godbless, fuckin a, can't wait for white jizz ,pardon jazz !
