Who ever expected (and btw needed. another RS record?) after the last one (Hackney Dimonds, 2023) took 18 years to happen?

 35 year old producer Andrew Watt (Hackney Diamonds) returned for the RS's 25th studio album. 

14 new and 12 original songs, a grotesque (most would say ugly, but catchy) cover -a composite of the three RSurvivor's faces -Ronnie (79), Keith Richards (82), and Mick Jagger (who will be 83 on July 26th).  and a weird and abstract title, Foreign Tongues !

the band is completed by the regular collaborators, Steve Jordan (69) on the drums -he keeps a great Charlie Watts time, and  most reliable Darryl Jones (64) on bass -Jones played with the Stones since 1996!

BLÜESFERATÜ: UN CINE-CONCERT EVENIMENT, O ANIMAȚIE NOUĂ ȘI UN VIN DE COLECȚIE

Pe 27 iunie 2026, Blüesferatü – Eine Symphonie des Blues revine la Castelul Bran pentru cea de-a treia ediție consecutivă prezentată în grădina castelului. Ediția din acest an aduce însă mai mult decât o nouă reprezentație live a cine-concertului inspirat de Nosferatu (1922): o animație nouă realizată de Costin Chioreanu și Olivia Chioreanu, lansarea ediției de colecție a vinului Blüesferatü Red Blend creată împreună cu Stoker Wines și noi colaborări culturale care continuă să extindă universul proiectului.

Nosferatu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens, de F. W. Murnau (1922), este unul dintre cele mai importante filme mute din istoria cinematografiei. Coloana sonoră originală s-a pierdut, iar de-a lungul timpului au fost create nenumărate partituri și reinterpretări muzicale, transformând filmul într-un reper al cine-concertelor și al festivalurilor de film din întreaga lume.

Dar niciodată nu s-a cântat blues pe el.

Un blues mai psihedelic, dar ce blues: Blüesferatü!

Muzica originală este compusă și interpretată live de muzicienii brașoveni Robert Watzatka „Watzzy” și Ionuț Constantin „Yokko”, alături de Claudiu Rusu „Kani” (tobe), Ilyes Botond „Boti” (chitară), Mihai Nedea (keyboards) și Ovidiu Modigă (bas).

Proiectul a fost prezentat în premieră mondială pe 28 septembrie 2023 la Brașov, în cadrul Transilvania Blues Festival, după două reprezentații speciale organizate la Banca de Cultură Apollonia și Hub 2068. De atunci, Blüesferatü a continuat să evolueze prin improvizație, reinterpretare artistică și noi direcții creative, fiind prezentat în contexte culturale precum TIFF Timișoara, Buzz IFF și Castelul Bran.

Ca și în 2024 și 2025, și în acest an filmul va fi proiectat pe un ecran amplasat în curtea Castelului Bran. Muzicienii vor interpreta live coloana sonoră pe întreaga durată a filmului – 95 de minute.

Ediția din 2026 marchează și extinderea universului Blüesferatü dincolo de cine-concert.

În deschiderea evenimentului va avea loc o proiecție specială a animației Blüesferatü: The Animation, realizată de artiștii vizuali Costin Chioreanu și Olivia Chioreanu (Twilight13Media). Lansată recent online, animația va putea fi urmărită în prezența realizatorilor pe ecranul amplasat în curtea Castelului Bran, marcând debutul unei noi dimensiuni vizuale în universul Blüesferatü.

Tot cu această ocazie, va fi lansată împreună cu Stoker Wines ediția de colecție Blüesferatü Red Blend – Collector's Edition, inspirată de imaginarul proiectului. Fiecare spectator care achiziționează bilet la cine-concert va primi o sticlă din această ediție specială de colecție* (*în limita stocului disponibil).

Totodată, ediția din acest an beneficiază de sprijinul Centrului Cultural German Brașov și al Institutului Goethe, parteneri culturali ai proiectului, într-o colaborare care evidențiază dialogul dintre expresionismul german și reinterpretarea contemporană propusă de Blüesferatü.

Murnau's silent-film masterpiece Nosferatu (1922) through an original soundtrack of psychedelic blues performed live by musicians from Brașov, Romania. A glimpse into the dark, psychedelic universe of a project that continues to transform from one edition to the next.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (2004-2025)

You're in for a Treat !

The complete version of Kill Bill (s), aka The Whole Bloody Affair, is in Selected Romanian cinemas, for a Very Limited period of time ! With an Intermission too, just overlong, who needs 15 mins??  and in Glorious Shawscope !!!

Let's be Crystal Clear on this, Kill Bill was supposed to be just one film, not two, it was separated due to duration by the infamous youknowho producer and distributor. Tarantino was a bit upset but he conformed. Then he did his own cut. Now he even extended it.  Results: a new film, better than any other version, superior in storytelling, rhythm, timing and flow. 

IMO don't stay after the overlong credits, you'll get a boneheadish animation entitled The LOST CHAPTER which makes no sesne and it;s actually a Tie-in of a video game. Go home with the

Now the differences (atken from various sources on the net):

The first change you'll notice is an extra 10 minute animated sequence that shows O-Ren Ishii getting revenge on the man that killed her parents. It's animated beautifully and gives O-Ren's character even more depth than she already had. Secondly you'll notice that the legendary fight scene at the House of Blue Leaves is now in full color. With this scene in full color you get to really see the carnage that The Bride creates. You see guys heads being chopped off and geysers of red blood bursting from their neck. You see limbs chopped off with bursts of red blood. You fully see the red blood soaked floor of the building and the red bloody water of the pond. It makes the scene so much more impactful. The third change you see, albeit a minor one, is you actually see how The Bride interrogates Sofia for information. Which of course includes her asking her questions and in turn chopping her arm off for not answering. But the last change and by far most important is at the end of Volume 1, Bill makes no mention of The Brides child still being alive. That small change not only improves Volume 1 but drastically improves Volume 2. Originally you go into Volume 2 technically ahead of The Bride as you know about her kid and she doesn't. But that small change puts us on equal footing with The Bride. It makes the scene of her coming through the door to her child not just shocking and impactful to her but to us, the audience.

The old Klingon proverb  "Revenge is a dish best served cold." shown at the beginning of the standard theatrical version of Kill Bill Vol. 1 is not present. A dedication to filmmaker Kinji Fukasaku is in its place, as was also the case in the opening of the Japanese theatrical release of Kill Bill Vol. 1.

While the 2004 Cannes cut of this film has had various special screenings throughout the past two decades, Lionsgate's 2025 theatrical release is the first time this unified version of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) has become accessible to a wider audience. 

There may have been minor alterations made from the Cannes cut to Lionsgate's cut, but here are some notable differences that separate THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR from VOLUME 1 and VOLUME 2.Modern Lionsgate logo plays before VOLUME 1's original Miramax logo. [*2025 only]
The "Kill Bill" title card during the opening credits contains the subtitle "The Whole Bloody Affair".
The uncensored Japanese version of VOLUME 1 is used for the first five chapters.
In Chapter 3, an additional 7.5 minutes of content is added to VOLUME 1's anime sequence in which a 13-year-old O-Ren attempts to kill Pretty Riki in an elevator.
At the end of Chapter 5, every shot after the Bride's final exchange with Sofie from VOLUME 1 is omitted (from airplane to end credits).
Between Chapters 5 and 6, a static "INTERMISSION" title card (white text, black background) stays on screen for 15 minutes. "Lonely Shepard" plays over the first few minutes of the intermission with the remainder being silent.
Everything from the opening of VOLUME 2 that precedes Chapter 6 is omitted (from Miramax logo to "Vol. 2" title card).
In Chapter 6, the Bride's opening narration at the Two Pines chapel from VOLUME 2 is omitted.
Entire cast, crew and song list from VOLUME 1 is integrated into VOLUME 2's end credits.
The uncensored version of Yuki's Revenge (2025) plays after the credits, front-loaded with an animated lobby jingle. [*2025 only]

In Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004), Beatrix Kiddo (The Bride) is buried alive in the grave of Paula Schultz. This is a famous Quentin Tarantino "Easter Egg" connecting the film to Django Unchained (2012), as Paula Schultz is believed to be the deceased wife of Dr. King Schultz.

Up the Irons !!!! 

Update after the screening (as noted on Letterbox):

Gotta say I expected this for a while so my expctations were Aces High. Seeing all the docs about the Irons, it makes for a nice completion, and great to see it in a cinema theater (*although mostly empty :( but it is more or less a promotional tool for the ongoing tour, more than the coda on the story of the Iron Maiden legend. 

3 1/2 -half star beacuse it ws on the big screen tho-

Di'Anno: Iron Maiden's Lost Singer (2026)

This just in, as y-day it was the 45th anniversary of the release of the KILLERS album (2.02.1981) !!!

The life and career of pioneering heavy metal frontman Paul Di'Anno, the powerhouse voice heard on Iron Maiden's early albums, will be celebrated in the forthcoming documentary, Di'Anno: Iron Maiden's Lost Singer, to be released by Cleopatra Entertainment this summer.

I met Wes Orshoski (and his co-director Greg Olliver in Cannes 15 years ago !!! when they premiered LEMMY in the market, wanted to bring him to Brasov to Doc and Roll to present his film, which we did (show the film that is..)

In a strikingly raw and intimate film, director Wes Orshoski captures the late singer riding an emotional rollercoaster toward the end of his life. Featuring appearances by James Hetfield (Metallica), Gene Simmons (Kiss) Maiden's Steve Harris and members of Exodus, Slayer, Megadeth, Overkill and Sepultura, the film chronicles how two Iron Maiden fans encounter Di'Anno at the lowest point of his life and then set out to restore his health and relaunch his career.

Wheelchair-bound since the mid-2010s, Di’Anno’s health nosedived during the Covid-19 pandemic, when those two fans launched a crowdfunding campaign which ultimately led to him relocating to Croatia, where - through the help of those fans and doctors - he made a dramatic turnaround while running out of money, reuniting with his former Maiden bandmates, and falling in love. Eventually he makes a heroic and drama-filled return to the stage. All of this is captured in Di'Anno: Iron Maiden's Lost Singer, which Orshoski began shooting in 2017.  

“For years there wasn’t much to capture,” says Orshoski, whose credits include Lemmy, a study of Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister and The Damned: Don't You Wish That We Were Dead. “Paul was waiting for surgeries that doctors in the U.K. would not green-light. He was in an incredibly dark place. But once he got to Croatia, fans and doctors gave him the hope he was desperately searching for. It was beautiful to witness. I wanted to make a film that was unlike any rock doc you've ever seen. And in the end, I think we got there.” 

One of icons of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, London-born Di’Anno helped launch Iron Maiden around the world, appearing on two of the most foundational metal albums ever released: Iron Maiden’s 1980 self-titled debut and the celebrated follow-up, Killers, released in 1981. In one of the most epic sagas in metal history, Di’Anno left Maiden in 1981 and was replaced by Bruce Dickinson, leaving metal fans around the world to debate which line-up and which singer was/is better. It’s a debate that continues to this day, almost 50 years later. 

Orshoski finished work on the film (which was shot in England, Croatia, Brazil and the United States) shortly before Di’Anno’s death at 66 in October 2024. Di’Anno: Iron Maiden’s Lost Singer has been screening at European film festivals and will be released worldwide on both streaming services and on Home Entertainment DVD and BLU RAY formats.

Recunoscut drept unul dintre cei mai spectaculoși chitariști de blues-rock contemporan, Eric Sardinas revine în fața publicului din România pentru un concert-eveniment la București, în cadrul Transilvania Blues Nights, marcând prima sa apariție în România după 2012, când a concertat ultima dată în București. Artistul american este celebru pentru stilul său electrizant și tehnica explozivă de slide guitar, prin care îmbină blues-ul tradițional cu energia rock-ului. Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne vine în premieră în România pentru un concert-eveniment la Brașov, fiind recunoscut drept unul dintre cei mai importanți pianişti de blues și boogie-woogie ai lumii.

Cu o carieră ce depășește 50 de ani, Kenny a împărțit scena cu legende ale blues-ului

și rock-ului, precum Jimmy Reed, Pinetop Perkins, Johnnie Johnson, Big Joe Duskin,

Joe Louis Walker și Floyd Dixon, dar și cu artiști celebri de soul și rock, printre care Ike

Turner sau membri ai Santana și Doobie Brothers. Virtuozitatea sa la pian și vocea sa

expresivă au cucerit publicul pe patru continente, fiind apreciat de critici și fani deopotrivă.

Născut în Spokane și crescut în New Orleans, Los Angeles și San Francisco, Kenny a

început să cânte la pian la doar 13 ani, inspirat de gospel-ul tatălui său și de boogie-

woogie-ul descoperit mai târziu. Stilul său combină energia boogie-woogie, eleganța

jazz-ului, ritmul swing-ului și profunzimea blues-ului clasic, transformând fiecare concert

The S.H.I.T. – Brand-New Blues Rock Supergroup – premieră în România!

The S.H.I.T. este un nou supergrup internațional, format din patru muzicieni excepționali ai scenei blues și

rock: Innes Sibun (chitară și voce), Mike Hellier (tobe), Roger Inniss (bas) și Rob Tognoni (chitară și voce).

Acești artiști, formați pe scenele mari ale blues-ului și rock-ului, s-au unit pentru a crea un proiect original,

plin de energie și atitudine.

Muzica lor combină blues-ul, roots și Americana, într-un stil autentic, caracterizat de virtuozitate instrumentală și prezență scenică remarcabilă. Acesta va fi primul concert susținut vreodată de The S.H.I.T. în această nouă formulă cu Innes Sibun la chitară și voce.

Innes Sibun (UK) – unul dintre cei mai apreciați chitariști britanici de blues rock, parte din Robert Plant Band și artist cu peste 30 de ani de experiență scenică. Unul din prietenii statornici ai Transilvania Blues Nights ca parte din proiectul The Malone Sibun Band împreună cu texanul Marcus Malone, prezenți de trei ori la Brașov, în 2019, 2020 si în 2023.

Rob Tognoni (Australia) – The Tasmanian Devil, un showman de forță, chitarist exploziv și o carieră de peste trei decenii. A mai fost prezent la Transilvania Blues Nights cu propria trupă în 2022 și 2024.

Roger Inniss (UK) – basist cu o versatilitate remarcabilă, activ în proiecte de blues, funk și soul. A colaborat cu artiști precum Joanne Shaw-Taylor, Snowy White, Mick Taylor, Edwin Starr, Chaka Khan. A fost prezent la Transilvania Blues Nights de două ori, alături de brazilianul Fred Sunwalk.

Mike Hellier (UK) – baterist cu groove puternic și experiență eclectică, a cântat în diverse formule, de la Mike Scott (The Waterboys), James Hunter, Johnny Thunders, la Mudd Morganfield, fiul lui Muddy Waters.

Todd Sharpville se află în prima linie a scenei britanice de blues de peste 30 de ani.

Primul său album, Touch Of Your Love, a fost lansat în 1992 la Red Lightnin Records,

câștigând premiile „Cel mai bun album” și „Cel mai bun chitarist” la British Blues

Awards — o dublă distincție care a marcat începutul unei cariere internaționale

impresionante. De atunci, Todd și trupa sa au concertat în majoritatea cluburilor și

festivalurilor de blues din întreaga lume. A cântat și a înregistrat alături de artiști

legendari precum Hubert Sumlin, Joe Louis Walker, Ike Turner, Bill Wyman și Roger

Daltrey. Este recunoscut pentru tonul cald, rafinat, și pentru abordarea sa elegantă,

moștenită de la maeștri precum B.B. King și Peter Green. Printre momentele de

referință ale carierei sale se numără colaborările și jam session-urile cu Taj Mahal,

Peter Green, Little Milton, Lonnie Brooks, Duke Robillard, Little Charlie Baty, Derek

Trucks & Susan Tedeschi, Branford Marsalis, Anson Funderburgh, Lonnie Mack,

Ronnie Earl, Buckwheat Zydeco și Terence Simien.

Între 2005 și 2007, Todd Sharpville a fost invitatul special în turneele europene ale lui

Joe Cocker și Pink, deschizând totodată ultima seară a turneului de adio al lui B.B.

King la D’Coq Arena, în Luxemburg. Albumul său recent, Medication Time, a fost

lăudat de criticii britanici pentru profunzimea emoțională și maturitatea compoziției.

Cine-concertul live Blüesferatü revine la Castelul Bran – 28 iunie 2025, ora 21:30

 

Nosferatu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922), capodopera regizorului expresionist F.W. Murnau, este considerat unul dintre cele mai importante filme mute din istoria cinematografiei. Muzica originală a filmului s-a pierdut, iar de-a lungul timpului s-au realizat numeroase partituri alternative, făcând din Nosferatu un favorit al cine-concertelor din întreaga lume.

 

Dar niciodată nu s-a cântat blues pe el. Până acum.

 

Blüesferatü – eine Symphonie des Blues aduce în România o versiune live în care imaginea iconică a lui Nosferatu este acompaniată de o coloană sonoră originală, compusă și interpretată live de șase muzicieni brașoveni, într-o cheie blues psihedelic, intensă și cinematică.

După premiera mondială din 2023 și reprezentațiile din 2024 în cadrul Transilvania Blues Festival Brașov, Buzău International Arts Festival și TIFF Timișoara, proiectul revine în 2025, pe 28 iunie 2025, ora 21:30, într-o nouă punere în scenă, în grădina Castelului Bran.

 

Muzica originală este compusă și interpretată live de muzicieni brașoveni: Ionuț Constantin „Yokko” – compozitor, dirijor; Robert Watzatka „Watzzy” – compozitor, chitară; Ilyes Botond „Boti” – chitară; Mihai Nedea – clape; Ciprian Pârvu – bas; Claudiu Rusu „Kani” – tobe. Muzicienii vor cânta live în fața ecranului pe toată durata filmului - 95 de minute!

 

Un eveniment rar, aflat la granița dintre muzică, film și performance, sub clar de lună, în inima Transilvaniei.

 

Un proiect produs de Alin Ludu Dumbravă și Vlad Popescu pentru Asociația Transilvania Arts & Events.

🔹 Luke Winslow-King (USA)
Originar din Cadillac, Michigan, chitarist, vocalist și compozitor de excepție, cu peste 15 ani petrecuți în New Orleans, muzica sa e o fuziune rafinată de Americana, delta blues, gospel și jazz.
În 2008, a fost numit de Gambit Magazine „Cel mai bun artist de blues”.
The Luke Winslow-King Band s-a format acum peste 15 ani și a avut concerte în toată lumea. Secundul lui Luke Winslow este Roberto Luti, chitarist și cantautor extraordinar originar din Toscana dar cu 10 ani petrecuți în New Orleans, cunoscut mai ales prin aparițiile sale din proiectul ”Playing for Change”.

Un trio italian cu o chimie scenică explozivă, format din frații în muzică Roberto Luti, Simone Luti și Rolando Cappanera. Povestea lor începe încă din adolescență, cu trupa First Experience, și continuă prin cariere individuale impresionante, colaborări internaționale și participări în proiecte de talie mondială, precum Playing for Change.

T.R.E.S. s-a înființat în 2010 într-un proiect muzical sincer și dinamic, unde blues-ul, funk-ul, rock-ul și psihedelia se unesc într-un sound vibrant. Pe scenă, T.R.E.S. (acronim de la Tres Radio Express Service) înseamnă intensitate și libertate artistică!
