un interviu excelent despre Rourke (IN FRANCEZA !) si pozitia lui in Franta, fata de cea in America, inlcusiv bancul cu francezii, care ce stiu ei, "ii apreciaza pe Jerry Lewis si Mickey Rourke". Yep, la Oscar ieri amindoi ! (saracul Jerry parea pe duca, lA fel ca si Tony Hopkins).

e cam tot ce am sa spun despre aceste Oscaruri, editia 81 (lista completa de winneri aici)!
nu am vrut sa mentionez anterior ca Sean Penn a luat SAG si ca e competitorul lui Mickey Rourke, si cum o editie care parea sa fie fara surprize a avut doua, majore.
1. Rourke, in sansa vietii lui si la un pas de victoria finala, "snatched defeat from the feet of victory" (Wayne Kramer), from who else than Harvey Milk. Acum, ca el si Mickey sunt "brothers' si Rourke n-o sa-i sparga nasul sau n-o sa mai joace in filme si o sa faca numa' wrestling, n-o sa se intimple, dar e o rusine, si e o chestie politica, si nu ca sunt eu homofob, dar si Slumdog shite si Milk se datoreaza epocii Obama si propunerii de vot contra casatorie homosexuale, pe care speechul lui Penn o apara. Asa ca e lobby, si as fi preferat sa cistige Frank Langella sau Richard Jenkins oricind fata de Penn, care in plus mai are un Oscar, pentru Mystic River.
2. Okuribito ? WTF ? "domo arigato mr. roboto", cum a zis japonezul care a cistigat la scurtul de animatie. Who the fuck is Takita si cum ia el peste Bashir, Cantet, terosristii germani si delicventul austriac ? O rusine, o alta sodoma adaugata nenominalizarii Gomorrei, si of course singurul film pe care nu l-am vazut, din cele straine...
anyway, Slumdog are 8 premii, un alt film minor din istoria de "crashuri" AMPAS, si premiul de cel mai bun cintec, sa traitzi, bine ! 8 din 10, that's a good range !
acum n-am vrut sa scriu ca daca Rourke nu o sa ia Oscarul nu ma mai uit sau imi maninc pantofii precum Werner Herzog, a fost primul an cind n-am mai facut nici pariuri, deci n-am irosit decit o noapte de somn si am ramas cu senzatia amara a unui esec si unei frustrari (sunt eu singurul care are feelingul dupa Oscaruri dimineata ca parca i s-a furat ceva sau a pierdut ceva presonal ?
Domo arigato mr. Oscar, you could have been a wrestler but all u wanted to be was a slumdog millionaire !

Rourke gave a prolonged, hilarious, expletive-laden acceptance speech, dedicating the award to his dog that died six days earlier and thanking everyone from his director, Darren Aronofsky, to the wrestling community. He mentioned that he had just talked with the Santa Monica police department, which "gave me a bed to sleep in 10 years ago," when Rourke was in the midst of the bad-boy behavior that made him a Hollywood has-been until his comeback in recent years with films such as "Sin City" and "The Wrestler."

Momentarily forgetting co-star Marisa Tomei's name, Rourke later complimented her for her role as a stripper in "The Wrestler," which earned her a supporting-actress Oscar nomination.

"Not many girls can climb the pole," Rourke said. "She climbed the pole, and she did it well."

Right after Rourke's speech, Tom McCarthy won the best-director award for the immigrant drama "The Visitor."

"I feel like we should just stop the show after Mickey, because who could follow that, really?" McCarthy said.
