Ouch...

cind un film care incaseaza 112 milioane de dolari in 10 zile e considerat flop...Watchmen n-a ramas pe locul unu in w/e la BO, lucru de altfel de asteptat.
Watchmen a costat 150 de milioane de dolari, dar de fapt mult mai mult, daca punem la socoteala gestarea indelungata si problematica, procesele intre studiouri si preproductia avortata la Universal (under the hood of Paul Greenglass), si bineinteles bugetul urias de lansare. In Romania Watchmen a facut 10794 de spectatori in primul w/e, pe locul unu la BO.
BO MOJO:

Watchmen disintegrated 67 percent to an estimated $18.1 million for $86 million in ten days, trailing all previous superhero movies that debuted in the $50 million range through the same point. For perspective, 300, which Watchmen was oft compared to, fell 54 percent to $32.9 million in its second weekend (for a $129.2 million total), and, among major comic book movies, only Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Hulk had steeper drop-offs. The weekend further <cemented Watchmen's status as a movie with much more limited appeal than other superhero pictures, rooted in its non-mainstream source material and its diffuse storyline and marketing Watchmen's 124 IMAX theaters held a bit better than the rest. They were down 58 percent, accounting for an estimated $2.3 million of the weekend and $9.5 million of the total.

si asta in timp ce un film de kk, B actionbessonism ca Taken face peste mai mult decit watchemen in 5 sapatamini de lansare in SUA...nu mai vorbesc de performanta lui Slumdog care era destinat sa fie direct pe dvd in SUA...

Eden Log (2007)

Eden Log arata ca un film experimental cross joc debil de computer, gen Doom meets Le Dernier Combat, dar desaturat la culoare, un alt produs al valului SF/horror francez (ma asteapta si Dante 01 la care regizorul voit auteur al acestui talmes balmes, ciurli burli depressing si care iti pune la incercare rabdarea a fost asistent de regie, acesta e debutul sau). Trebuie sa marturisesc ca dupa Eden Log, Babylon AD chiar si in forma lui atroce montata mi se pare entertainment delicatessen/traiteur.
Clovis Cornillac pe post de Neo camenbert urla, scinceste, se tiraste, tipa, plinge, se loveste, loveste, e lovit, so on. pe undeva la sfirsit e si un point, un gimmmcik, in care afli ce e Eden Log si ce facea Cornillac. Un iz de Tetsuo si de Timpuriu Jeunet si Caro, un grim art design, claustrofobic, metalic, verzuliu, sepia. In film joaca si o duduie care se numeste Lavinia Birladeanu, habar n-am unde. dar iata cum encore une fois, le cinema roumain rulez ! oricum Franck Vestiel, regizor si coscenarist a facut asistenta de regie la noi, la Saint Ange si Ils. Il astept ca regizor de cine stie ce remake horror /sf made in USA, Hellraiser 3 ar fi bun pt. el. Cronica din Variety apreciaza stilul vizual, faptul ca e filmat cu camere din mina in locatii subterane printre care un canal. Oui !

deci "cei ascunsi", sau "ascunsii", sau "cei de sub pamint", etc, daca spui "Creaturile de sub pamint" e prea mult spoiler dar si gen Tremors (si Critters parca, doua horroruri din anii 80). Dar acest straight to dvd Burrowers e un western care se intimpla la 1879, in timpul Razboiului Civil, un soi de The Searchers cu mix horror, complet cu indieni as the usual suspects, regizat destul de cool. Copia care am vazut-o nu era 2.35 ci un soi de 1.85 or less, deci n-am putut judeca imaginea, incadratura fiind doar mai claustrofobica. Cross de genuri destul de interesant,


synopsis complet:

It is 1879 in the Dakota Territories. A handful of brave pioneers maintain isolated settlements in the badlands beyond civilization. Irish Immigrant Fergus Coffey is near to winning the hand of his beloved Maryanne when she is suddenly taken from him, her family brutally abducted in a nighttime attack on their homestead. Suspicion falls immediately on hostile Indians. Experienced Indian fighters Will Parcher and John Clay form a posse and set out to rescue the kidnapped settlers, taking along a naïve teenager hoping to prove himself a man, an ex-slave looking to find his place in the world and their ranch-hand, Coffey. But as men vanish in the night and horrific evidence accumulates with the dead and dying, the group discovers that their prey is far more terrifying than anything human, and their prospects are far more terrible than death.

scris si regizat de J.T. Petty (al carui prim film, ciudatel, Soft for Digging-2001, l-am vazut si care a a filmat Mimic 3: the Sentinel in Romania cu domnu Lance'), cu character actors dedicati (William Mapother, Clancy Brown, Doug Hutchinson, Karl Geary), mi-a adus aminte de Dead Birds, un alt western horror, de data asta intr-o casa, pe cind Burrowers e along the trail, in cimp si paduri. probabil pe ecran lat, intr-o vizionare adecvata filmul ar fi avut de cistigat, oricum o incercare onorabila pe care Lion's Gate au aruncat-o straight to dvd, destinata unui cult following minor.
