James Garner RIP

The original Maverick is gone :( The Scrounger too....Legendarul actor american James Garner (Marea Evadare, Grand Prix, Marlowe, Support Your Local Sheriff! & Support Your Local Gunfighter, Tancul, Space Cowboys, serialele Maverick, The Rockford Files),a murit pe 19 iulie la Los Angeles. Avea 86 de ani. Considerat un exponent al "actoriei invizibile", old-school Hollywood. In 1973 John Wayne l-a numit "cel mai bun actor din Hollywood".
Star de cinema in anii 60, apoi star TV in anii 70 si 80. Pilot de formula unu, veteren de razboi, calaret de mare clasa. L-a jucat pe Wyatt Earp de 2 ori, in Hour of the Gun (John Sturges, 1967) si Sunset (Blake Edwards, 1988), in care Bruce Willis este Tom Mix. Tot pentru Blake Edwards a facut un rol superb in Victor/Victoria (1982). Nominalizare la Oscar pentru Murphy's Romance al lui Martin Ritt (1985), alaturi de Sally Field. Preferatul meu cultissim, 36 Hours (1965, thriller de George Seaton).

"Hunter Of Invisible Game" -A short film by Thom Zimny and Bruce Springsteen.
"I wrote [the title] down years ago, and I don't remember a lot about it except I said, 'That's a nice title.' I wrote it down and it sat there. Then I did more reading of other things. And I started to get into this sort of post-apocalyptic idea. The idea of these travellers in the wasteland, and what's the guy trying to do? He's trying to hold onto their humanness, their humanity in all of this ruin. That was the idea. That's who this guy is, the guy who is hunting out remnants of what makes the spirit. It was one of those songs that came together a certain way and I didn't think much about it when I wrote it. I put it away. Now it's probably one of my favorite things on the record."
