communique: Darren Aronofsky to be Jury President of the Berlinale 2015
American director, screenwriter and producer Darren Aronofsky will be Jury President of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.
"Darren Aronofsky has distinguished himself as an outstanding protagonist in contemporary auteur cinema. In his artistic approach he consistently sounds out cinematic language and its aesthetic possibilities. I’m pleased to be able to welcome him as Jury President of the Berlinale 2015,” says Festival Director Dieter Kosslick.
Following his studies at Harvard University, Darren Aronofsky celebrated his feature film debut in 1998 with Pi, which won the award for Best Director at the Sundance Film Festival and Best Script at the Independent Spirit Awards. He presented his highly acclaimed cinematic adaptation Requiem for a Dream at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000, and the cult film The Fountain at the Venice Film Festival in 2006. In addition, at "Mostra del Cinema" in Venice, his film The Wrestler won the Golden Lion in 2008, and was hailed as the film of the year at the AFI Awards in Los Angeles. The film’s success also represented a sensational comeback of actor Mickey Rourke.
In 2011, Darren Aronofsky presented Black Swan, a psychological thriller taking place in the world of professional ballet. It was nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes, the Director’s Guild of America Awards and the BAFTAs. His visually sweeping film Noah was released in 2014.

Formația bucureșteană Omul cu șobolani a fost aleasă de către managementul Jack White pentru a deschide concertul de la București. Show-ul are loc pe 9 noiembrie 2014, în Pavilionul Central Romexpo.

Una dintre cele mai apreciate trupe de rock alternativ din Romania, Omul Cu Sobolani, a fost infiintata in Constanta, in 1997. De atunci au trecut 17 ani de cautari, 8 albume lansate, 90 piese si 3 generatii de fani. Componenta actuala ii cuprinde pe Dan Amariei (voce), Nicolae Amara (chitara), Mihnea Dobrota (tobe) si Radu Andrei (bas). In 2012, Omul Cu Sobolani au pornit intr-o noua cautare muzicala si spirituala, deopotriva. "Marea Cautare" este un album muncit aproape doi ani de zile, un album care nu a venit deloc de la sine, dar nici nu a fost cautat, si este cel mai "introspectiv" album OCS de pana acum.
Evenimentul Jack White in Romania este organizat de Phoenix Entertainment si recomandat de Rock FM.

Jack White s-a dovedit încă o dată a fi un artist complet, care își respectă în primul rând
publicul. După tragica moarte a claviaturistului Ikey Owens, găsit fără suflare în camera de hotel
în urmă cu două săptămâni, Jack White refuză să facă orice fel de compromis care ar putea să
diminueze experiența live a show-urilor sale prin folosirea înregistrărilor.
Într-un timp extraordinar de scurt, artistul reușește să își continuie turneul alături de
Dean Fertita, un muzician talentat, cunoscut pentru evoluția sa alături de trupe mari precum
Queens of the Stone Age, nominalizați de trei ori la Premiile Grammy pentru Best Hard Rock
Performance, Best Rock Performance și Best Rock Album.
De altfel, nu este nici prima oară când Jack colaborează cu Fertita, care a făcut, cu câțiva ani în
urmă, parte din supergrupul fondat de Jack White și Brendan Benson numit The Ranconteurs.
