Alan Rickman RIP

ziceau mai multi pe net these days, noul club 27 este 69. Mda, funny, dar mai ai 42 de ani de viata sa faci ceva cu ea...
si dupa Bowie, nu se asteptau ca un alt gentleman londonez, dintr-o alta zona insa, sa se duca si el. Tot 69, tot cancer. What a week.
Credeti-ma ca m-am saturat sa scriu despre morti, dar trebuie sa le adresam un ultim omagiu. Anul asta s-au dus si Vilmos Zsigmond, George Alexandru, Michel Galabru, Angus Scrimm (Tall man in Phantasm), Robert Stigwood, s-a dus si Omul Grizzly Adams, Dan Haggerty.
Alan Rickman mai avea mai putin de o luna pina ce ar fi implinit 70 de ani (n. 21 februarie 1946- m.14 ianuarie 2016 :(
Banuiesc ca majoritatea celor tineri il cunosc pe Rickman din seria Harry Potter-profesorul Severus Snape, insa noi ceilalti il stim din primul Die Hard (1988), as mr. Hans Gruber, nume care ramine in creier (si care se trage dintr-un film cu James Coburn, Our man Flynt-1966), unul din the greatest baddies ever. Cel mai mare atuu al sau, vocea. Amenintatoare, fara a schimba tonul. Autoritara si cu un superb accent british, pe care aici il transforma intr-un grav accent german Cu umlaut.
Gruber a fost si primul sau rol in cinema, desi avea peste 40 de ani. Joel Silver, producatorul si cu John McTiernan, regizorul, l-au vazut intr-o piesa de teatru, Legaturile periculoase, in rolul vicontelui Valmont si l-au vrut imediat pentru Gruber.
“I was extremely cheap,” quipped Rickman about what made the newbie thesp attractive to Die Hard producer Joel Silver, before remembering he almost turned the role down. “I read it and said, ‘What the hell is this? I’m not doing an action movie.” Thankfully for Rickman, and audiences, he was persuaded by friends to take that first role even though it might also have proven his last. Recalling how he had to perform his own stunt in the climactic fall from the top of the skyscraper — this was in the pre-CGI days — Rickman was given one afternoon’s training to prepare for the scene, “which was the very last shot — just in case.”

Funny in comedie, Galaxy Quest, Metatron in Dogma, sobru in filme de epoca (sense and Sensibility) unde aduce teatralitatea din experienta RADA.
Muzical, judecatorul Turpin din adaptarea lui Tim Burton la Sweeney Todd, muzicalul lui Stephen Sondheim. Si vocea omizii albastre din Alice in tara minunilor si continuarea "Prin oglinda', ceea ce va fi ultimul sau rol :(
Rasputin in Tv movie, 1996, pentru care a primit Globul de Aur.
Nicio nominalizare la Oscar :(.
Ultima oara l-am vazut in rolul lui Hilly Kristal din filmul despre clubul CBGB. (2013).

David Bowie has left the planet...

unexpected. or not. for the moment I am too shattered to write extensively about it. Saw him live twice in 2003, on the Reality tour, in Germany and France (thanks, Arne, hello Enne, Melanie ) just the year before he had the heart attack on stage, and afterwards kinda retired or paced down.
Still coping with Lemmy's demise, just saw yesterday nite his funeral service (wow), and in the morning, past Golden Globes, got the shattering news. Bowie was 69 on Jan. 8th, the realase date of his latest (now, last) album, Blackstar ( * ). He died of cancer Sunday January 10th, the birthday of my dear friend and bro from the land of the midnight sun, Terje, turning 50, a huge Bowie friend and foe, and the one who got me into the most meaningful conversations about him and his work. For me, except the actor that I cherished, he was also the saviour of Iggy and Lou Reed, in their times of trouble, the Cat People anthemic "with the Gasoline", The Width of a circle and Be my Wife. The man Who Fell to Earth.
