Ultimul ramas din Cei sapte magnifici, Robert Vaughn, a plecat si el in preeriile vesnice. Avea 83 de ani. ar fi putut sa ii dea un cameo in remakeul mediocru de anul acesta :(

Bun in roluri de politican veros (de la Bullit incoace), militar, oficial.
A jucat in Bullit, Podul de la Remagen, Brass Target, Infernul din zgirie-nori, in Hangar 18, in SF-ul inspirat din Cei sapte magnifici si samurai, Battle Beyond the Stars (1980, produs de Roger Corman). Vocea robotului Proteus IV in Demon Seed.

RIP !
If you are the dealer, I'm out of the game
If you are the healer, it means I'm broken and lame
If thine is the glory then mine must be the shame
You want it darker
We kill the flame
Magnified, sanctified, be thy holy name
Vilified, crucified, in the human frame
A million candles burning for the help that never came
You want it darker
Hineni, hineni
I'm ready, my lord
There's a lover in the story
But the story's still the same
There's a lullaby for suffering
And a paradox to blame
But it's written in the scriptures
And it's not some idle claim
You want it darker
We kill the flame
They're lining up the prisoners
And the guards are taking aim
I struggled with some demons
They were middle class and tame
I didn't know I had permission to murder and to maim

ultimul interviu:
"Mad" Mel's mad comeback...a true war story Worth telling.
Medic, adventist & Conscient Objector Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield) saved 75 lives in WW2, at Hacksaw Ridge, a horryifing battle in the Pacific in 1945.
Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson's comeback to directing after a 10 year gap (since Apocalypto), and his own inner battles with his addictions and past sins, is a resurrection, faith and redemption story. The war scenes are terrific.
Things to object: a too classic and long act one backup story and mainly the musical score, by Rupert Gregson-Williams is too reminiscent of Hans Zimmer's The Thin Red Line. as is the atmosphere at the beginning of the picture.

Dedicated to Andrew Lesnie and James Horner, they whould've been Mel's main contributors to HR. I would've loved Horner's score, esp. as his last one was wasted on the mediocre remake of Magnificent Seven :(
