The last one of the greatest ones, of Hollywood's golden age,
KIRK DOUGLAS is gone at 103 !
Dec 9 1916-Feb 5 2020
Real name> Izzy -Issador- Demsky, son of a Ruusian emigrant
debut in 1946 in The Strange Love of Martha Ives
He was Spartacus !
Three times Oscar nominated, won an Honorary Award in 1996
He directed two films, Scalawag (1973) and Posse (1975).

I celebrated him at Cinemateca Patria in Dec. 2016 when he was 100 years old, a portrait in 10 films:

1917 makes history, first of all on the level of technical bravura, all in the purpose of epic and personal storytelling !
its definetly one of 2019-s best films and more,
a sure Oscar 2020 winner (hopefully a second one for DOP Roger Deakins, might ne a second one for Sam Mendes too, sorry QT)
Another straight war film classic right here, and a better one than Dunkirk,  of which it has closeness

RIP Dan Andrei Aldea

Dan Andrei Aldea, unul din cei mai valabili muzicieni autohtoni, omul care a fost SFINX, (cu care a scos ceea ce e pentru multi dintre noi cel mai bun album de rock romanesc, Zalmoxe, in 1978), si a trebuit sa fuga din tara pentru a-si pastra verticalitatea, a plecat acum de tot.
Ar fi implinit 70 de ani pe 9 martie 2020...
