Rourke Fells Jericho To End Feud

Mickey Rourke made good on his promise to go head-to-head with wrestler Chris Jericho when he stepped into the ring to deliver a smackdown on Sunday.

The actor has been locked in a bitter and public war of words with Jericho since January, when he announced his plans to spar with the grappler at the WWE's Wrestlemania 25 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Jericho then hit back, telling Rourke: "I don't have respect for you... Be careful what you wish for, Mr. Rourke."

But Rourke was subsequently forced to bow out of the bout, citing the revival of his acting career as his main priority.

He repeated this sentiment to reporters hours before the event on Sunday, explaining: "Contractually, because I’m doing this movie called Iron Man 2 now, I can’t get in the ring with (Jericho)."

Sitting in the audience, Rourke watched as Jericho defeated three other professional wrestlers, before taunting and challenging the actor to a showdown.

But Rourke then stunned fans as he stepped up to the ring to settle the feud with his nemesis once and for all.

Removing his cowboy hat, Rourke clambered over the guard ropes and landed a punch that left Jericho reeling.

He was then joined by wrestling legend Ric Flair to celebrate his victory.

Fabrice De Welz a facut anterior Calvarul (Calvaire, 2004), si nu se poate spune despre el decit ca e belgian twisted, filmul e cam neplacut, un soi de Gent Chainsaw Massacre fara drujba, neplacut dar foarte bun, dar nu de revazut, asa ca am dat dvdul gasit la Virgin la reduceri. Cu noul sau film, extrem de ambitios, e mai dificil, Vinyan e un horror atmosferic, metaforic, intiatic si turistic, exotic, care poate fi descris ca Don't Look Now meets Apocalypse Now,


da, nu si Emerald Forest cum m-a intrebat AC. Mai mult Rambo IV, really. Meets Lord of the Flies. Flawed insa, si ar fi cistigat imens daca l-as fi vazut pe ecran mare, lat cum e facut, cu sound design corespunzator.


Un cuplu care si-a pierdut copilul (Emmanuelle Beart, inca foarte fresh pentru virsta ei (45, wow, time flies), chiar ma gindeam ca era femme fatale la Mission: impossible, acum 13 ani, si Rufus Sewell, cu voce cavernoasa si joc understated), not really mucho alchemy/empathy betwwen them...


merge in Burma sa-l caute, pentru ca ei i se pare ca l-a vazut intr-un filmulet cu copii orfani pentru ajutat...deteriorarea cuplului, voiaj initiatic, de- a lungul riului intr-un vaporas, teremnul de "Vinyan" find un spirit nelinistit, aflat intre lumi...

well, de vazut si l-as revedea pe ecran (poate al TIFF ?) pt atmosfera desi filmul o ia razna la o ora into, si nu-si mai revine...credits bengoase, cu lettering gen lasrs Von Trier al Euroap, si el de la Godard...cam megalo De Welz, de vazut ce-o sa mai faca...
7/10 , 3 1/2 din 5 (urcat de la 6 pt style si camera si ah, aproape deloc muzica)

RIP Marga Barbu

de 1 aprilie, la 80 de ani ! recent vorbeam de ea la o masa. N-am cunoscut-o dar am vazut-o recent (like a year ago) in parc, Ioanid, intre Icoanei si institutul francez. Cind eram copii, Marga era celebra. Hangita Anita (seria "Haiducii"), Agatha Slatineanu din seria "Margelatu", de la Nepotii gornistului (1953) la Padurea spinzuratilor (1964), si Domnisoara Aurica (1985). Nevasta lui Eugen Barbu, a avut rol in tot ce se ecraniza dupa el sau scria el scenariul, dar noua ni se parea ca e o diva, o Fausta, sau Angelica (nu degeaba s-a inspirat Barbu din Misterele Parisului si Rocambole), intre Ursula Andress si Faye Dunaway. ! Nu putea Gopo sa-i dea mai bine ei un premiu decit Bostancei ? RIP !
