RIP John Barry

pe 30 ianuarie s-a mai dus unul din legendarii compozitori ai cinema-ului, sinonim cu James Bond, unde a facut muzica la 11 filme (ultimul fiind The Living Daylights in 1987), imediat dupa ce Monty Norman a compus tema pentru Dr. No si el a colaborat la album. El este in fapt creatorului soundului Bond, 007. Iar compozitorul actual al seriei, David Arnold, a recunoscut ca Barry este mentorul sau. Sir John Barry (OBE) a primit 5 Oscaruri (pentru Born Free -si pt cel mai bun cintec-, The Lion in Winter, Out of Africa, si Dances With Wolves) si a facut muzica la peste 100 de filme. Ultimul score in 2001 pentru Enigma. Pe linga Bond a compus si teama pentru Harry Palmer, si The Ipcress File, proiectul concurent al lui Harry Salzman. Primele filme pe care le-am vazut cu muzica de el in copilarie, The Deep /Adincurile de Peter Yates, Strada Hanovra, Bizonul alb, Legenda claretului singuratic si Undeva, cindva (Somewhere in Time). Ultimul film pe care l-am vazut cu muzica de el, The Knack and how to Get it, despre swinging London. Membru in trupa sa, John Barry Seven, de la finele anilor 50, creator de hituri pop, rock (cu Cliff Richard, etc), dar si dirijor si compozitor de muzica clasica (apare in aceasta postura in Deadfall). Biografie completa pe allmusic.
John Barry avea 77 de ani si a murit de un atac de inima la New York. We and James Bond miss him !
