Zalman King este un exemplu de antrepreneur hollywoodian, pionier in industria de softcore sexstraight-to-cable. In tinerete a fost actor (in filme des erie B, Cormanlike productions si TV), apoi a devenit producator, cel mai faimos pentru 9 1/2 Weeks, specializat in erotic soft-core. Regizor (si producator): Jurnalul pantofilor rosii /Red Shoes Diary (serial pay TV Showtime), Two Moon Junction, Wild Orchid (1 si 2), Delta of Venus. A murit pe 3 februarie la Los Angeles, avea 69 de ani.

RIP Eiko Ishioka

Pe 26 ianuarie a murit Eiko Ishioka, designer extraordinaire. Avea 73 de ani. Cinema de la Mishima-1985, descoperita de Paul Schrader si adusa in America de Coppola, unde a facut, most famously costumele la Dracula -1992, si a primit premiul Oscar. Este cea care a translatat viziuni cu impact vizual pentru Tarsem Singh, in cele 3 filme ale sale, The Cell, the Fall si Immortals de anul trecut. A facut costume pentru noul muzical Spider-man, Cirque du Soleil-Vareki si Turneul Hurricane al lui Grace Jones. A primit un premiu Grammy pentru coperta pe care a facut-o la albumul lui Miles Davis "Tutu" din 1987. Cel mai recent a lucrat la noul film al lui Tarsem, Mirror Mirror. obituary din LA Times
