I saw him last nite and now he's gone...
yep, in El Camino (a Breaking Bad movie), and was happy he had such a great part.
As i was happy back in 1997 when he "came back" in Jackie Brown as bondsman Max Cherry. That part got him an Oscar nomination, the only one. Thank you, Quentin ! Unfortunately they never worked together again, how great it would have been to see Forster in Once Upon a Time in...Hollywood or Hateful Eight (let's say in the Bruce Dern parts, not that I don't absolutely love Bruce Dern!)
says Quentin (later edit): "Today the world is left with one less gentlemen," wrote the director. "One less square shooter. One less good man. One less wonderful father. One less marvelous actor. I remember all the breakfasts we had at silver spoons. All the stories. All the kind words. All the support. Casting Robert Forster in Jackie Brown was one of the best choices I’ve ever made in my life."
I saw him as a young troubled dude in Reflections of a Golden Eye next to Marlon and Liz , Brando and Taylor, the giants. They both root for this handsome young soldier... A great great almost unknown John Huston flick (my review here). His film debut !
Yes, that's Robert Forster in 1967.
And then he was in the essential and totally neglected masterpiece Medium Cool by Haskell Wexler (1969).
And in Larry Cohen's Vigilante !
Lewis Teague'sAlligator !
American Perfekt.
The doctor in the rmake of Psycho.
He was there for David Lynch in Mullholand Dr. and the new Twin Peaks series.
In Alexander Payne's The Descendents.
And many many flicks as he did over 100 of 'em-commander of the spaceship in The Black Hole, arab terrorst in Delta Force !
Robert Forster was 78. He died on October 11th 2019, the date of the world premiere of the long awaited Netflix Breaking Bad spin-off El Camino. A lovely last part ! Millions of people watched it last nite and will watch it again and some more. Miss you, RS...
and via my Blues cousin Vlad, i get that he was in this eerie video of Blood and Lemonade, by Morchheba (directed by Joshua Leonard) !

will do a tribute with his films at Cinemateca Patria in Brasov in November !!!! Jackie Brown included.
Ginger BAKER, the legenadary Cream drummer passed away . He was 80.
Considered by some the best drummer of all time, he was a very difficult man, then he became a reluctant and weird recluse, living in South Africa in his own farm. The fabulous documentary BEWARE OF MR. BAKER (that can be seen here) shows him as an old man, angry and bitter, or that was just him. Jay Bulger based his film on the article "The Devil and Ginger Baker", published in Rolling Stone magazine, and he lived with GB for a while.
