AC/DC DATES IN BUCHAREST FALSELY ADVERTISED

Promoters in Bucharest, Romania have been falsely advertising AC/DC as the headliner for their 2 day Bucharest Rock Arena festival happening on May 30 and 31, 2009. Tickets for this event have been available online as well as various retail outlets in Bucharest. AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour is sweeping through Europe where the band are headlining the 02 Arena in London tonight as well as April 16, 2009. AC/DC fans are encouraged to visit the band’s websites, acdc.com and acdcrocks.com, for a list of all sanctioned concerts. AC/DC will complete another 20 European dates before returning to the U.S. for a tour which kicks off on July 28 in Foxborough, MA.

CHICKENFOOT !!!

noua mea trupa preferata ? am auzit acum o oara de ea, cautind vesti de confirmare pentru AC/DC in Romania, ceea ce n-am gasit ! Dar am aflat ca noul supergrup de rock CHICKENFOOT se pregateste de turneu ! Poate pentru altii e oldnews (pagina lor de myspace e din decembrie 2008) dar eu azi am auzit ca Joe Satriani, Chad Smith (fostul tobar de la RHCP)si VH 1 & 2, Michael Anthony si Sammy Hagar se numesc CHickenfoot, scot album in iunie si vin si in Europa ! Asa ca daca n-am apucat si nici n-o sa-i apuc pe van halen, macar un picior de gaina, un Hagar si un Anthony si-l bifez si pe Satch cu ocazia asta ! demo-uri pe myspace !

The members of Chickenfoot admit that the band came together almost by accident, a result of jams held at Hagar's club, Cabo Wabo Cantina, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

"We were just having fun," recalls Michael Anthony. "After Sammy and I left Van Halen, we'd get together with musicians, and certain people seemed to really gel. Chad came down and we got on well with him. Gradually, we started talking about doing something more serious, but we needed a guitarist. Somebody smokin' - somebody who could take us to the Promised Land."

Enter Satch, who hooked up with Hagar, Anthony and Smith and felt "an immediate connection unlike anything I'd ever experienced before." To Satriani, who had almost abandoned his lifelong dream of being a part of a "big-time rock band," here was his chance, and here were his band mates. "After just a few songs, it became stunningly obvious that we shared an overall musical agenda. The only question was could we make a great album?"

The band answered that question last fall when they hunkered down with the illustrious producer Andy Johns at George Lucas' Skywalker Studios and knocked out a batch of songs that sets a new standard for rock music in the new millennium.

From the thunderous, ominous opening strains of Avenida Revolution (detailing the bloody drug wars in Tijuana, in which Hagar makes his feelings come through his skin) to the album closer, the shimmering rock ballad Future's in the Past, "Chickenfoot" is a firebomb of a record, the likes of which we haven't heard in ages.

The band kicks and snorts their way through a passel of take-no-prisoners rockers like Soap on a Rope, Sexy Little Thing, Oh Yeah and My Kind of Girl.

Bob Roberts (1992)

am revazut filmul lui Tim Robbins pe cind era young and iconic si comparat cu Orson "Citizen Kane" Welles. Filmul sau e un fel de This is Spinal Tap politic, un mockumentray (semnat cica de Terry Manchester scrie pe generic, dar te prinzi imediat pentru ca actorri sunt prea cunoscuti). Cu elemente de Don't Look back, documentarul lui D.A. Pennebacker depre turneul englez al lui Bob Dylan, Bob R preluind de la Dylan si Woody Gothrie elementele de cintaret folk (cu un twist de A Face in the Crowd).Robbins il construieste pe Roberts preluind si elemente din The Player, executivul de studio as charismatic antichrist, poti sa-i vezi pe toti presedintii, republicani sau democrati, de la Candidatul (Robert Redford) la Bush-i, Clintoni si chiar Obamizarea.



dvdul de la Artizan e un real treat. Chiar daca nu e in format (fullscreen fata de 1.85), are trei comentarii audio (timp sa ai...), unul cu Tim R, altul cu el si Gore Vidal (oponentul sau republican in film), si altul cu analisti politici care discuta CIA, IranGate si in general goodies. Plus 20 de minute de scene taiate in bloc si elemente promotionale. Dupa cum zice si dvdverdict, putea sa aibe si subtitluri.



Cind l-am vazut prima data, in jur de 1993 i suppose, mi-a placut filmul dar nu i-am sesizat mesianitatea si actualitatea absoluta, asa cum zice Kirk Douglas in Lista lui Adrian Messenger despre care am scris ieri, "Evil exists, Evil is !", dar azi Bob Roberts mai mult ca oricind candidatul ideal ! (moovies...more than ever / politics too.)
