si BTW l-am intrebat de SV de actorie si de Crossroads si mi-a raspuns ca a fost "too much going into a dark place", si care sunt filmele sale preferate. Tough one. "L-am incuiat", cum a zis Ernesto :) Dar dupa, cind am facut poza l-am reintrebat si mi-a zis confidential; Willy Wonka si fabrica de Ciocolata, am intrebat inutil daca originalul , a zis ca da, apoi dupa o pauza de citeva secunde a zis, si West Side Story.
N-as fi zis...asa n-ai fi zis ca Mr. Vai e un om atit de modest, de non-addicted 2 booze(no info), drugs (never), cigarettes (meening s-a lasat), posteste cel putin 5 zile pe an, si e insurat cu aceiasi femeie cu care a fost din adolescenta (Pia Maiocco, basista la Vixen in AD 1984). Creste albine si face miere (Fire garden honey-remember the album ?)

Steve Vai redux !

Steve si-a dedicat concertul lui John Lennon. A cintat o piesa pentru el, semana cu Feelings dar se cheam Lotus Feet si e de pe Real Illusions: Reflections. A povestit ca pe 8 decembrie 1980, cind avea 20 de ani si era in turneu cu Frank Zappa, dupa concert s-au dus backstage si cineva le-a spus ca Lennon a fost impuscat.
well, the world reverberates in weird ways, pe 8 decembrie 1990 eram la Palatul Copiilor la un memorial John Lennon, spectacol PMT al lui Florian "Motu" Pittis, dedicat la 10 ani de la moartea lui Lennon. Cu unii din prietenii de azi nu ma stiam atunci, dar eram in aceiasi sala. Cu unii din prietenii de atunci nu ma mai vad. Motu nu mai printre noi de acum 3 ani. Life, ain't it ?
Iar azi la masa, la restaurant, din senin, intr-o serie de cintece italienesti, s-a inserat IMAGINE, varianta originala Lennon. Tocmai ce postasem piesa pe blog cu 2 ore inainte...



ascult acum Tender Surrender de pe Where the Wild Things Are, cel mai nou disc al lui (2009), de cind l-am vazut prima oara pe Steve in 2000, la Sala Palatului (15 aprilie 2000, a date 2 remember), s-a concentrat pe faza Evo, pe G3, pe simfonic si jazz. Intr-o decada a scos doar trei albume cu materiale originale, toate mai pretentioase decit etapa anterioara, Real Illusions: Reflections (2005, Sound Theories Vol. I & II (2007) si Where the Wild Things Are (2009).
in 2005 am scris un material despre el pentru cartea prietenului Radu Lupascu, "Pe urmele lui Hendrix".

concertul de asta seara a fost cam scurt dar vazut din primul rind, extram de intens si colorat. Au contribuit si fetele de la quartetul Passione, si-n primul rind, violonista nr. 1, Diana, imbracata rock :) si zimbind tot timpul,
uitindu-se fix la Steve. iar eu de la ea la el, etc...

Am ajuns la Freak Show Exccess...cu un excelnt solo de bass,
Steve n-a cinta foarte mult dar piesele au fost interesant orhestrate, la For the Love of God m-a dus gindul al Michael Kamen si BoB Ezrin si ce au facut ei pentru Dream On de Aerosmith, etc. La un moment dat i s-a dus sunetul la chitara pe piesa, asa ca a cintat-o la encore, cu toata sala in picioare.

Sala Palatului, plina ochi, sound bun in fata, nu stiu cum s-a auzit in spate dar cred ca Ok.

John Lennon a murit azi, acum 30 de ani. Impuscat in fata cladirii Dakota din New York. Ar fi avut AZI 70 de ani.

acum, dupa ce s-a terminat primul sezon cu excelentul, tensionatul si claustrofobul TS-19 (titul vine de la Test pacient and #), (cu repere de la Day of the Dead la Kubrick-Dr.Strangelove, 2001), pot sa afirm ca TWD e cel mai bun lucru pe care l-am vazut in TV si dovada ca zombii sunt printre noi sunt rating-urile de pe AMC, dupa cum urmeaza:

The Walking Dead" drew more than 6 million total viewers in its first 10 p.m. airing, rising to 8.1 million viewers with the addition of 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. encores. In its first airing, "The Walking Dead" pulled in 4 million viewers in the key 18-49 demo, ranking first in that demo among basic cable for a drama series.

For its truncated six-episode first season, "The Walking Dead" averaged 3.5 million viewers in the 18-49 demo, making it the most watched drama series in basic cable history for the demo.

"The Walking Dead" is far-and-away the most successful original series in AMC's history and has already been renewed for a second season. The 13-episode second season of "The Walking Dead" isn't expected to premiere until next fall.

AMC renewed The Walking Dead for a second season after only two episodes, and the show has quickly become the network's biggest hit. The show's penultimate episode drew a series-high 5.5 million viewers, more than double the average viewership of AMC's multiple Emmy winner Mad Men.

pe de lata parte daca Darabont ramine head-honcho asta e tot ceea ce conteza, in el am cea mai mare incredere, si-n Gale Ann Hurd, si-abia apoi in Kirkman care are acum sansa sa lucreze in alt medium, asa cum a avut-o si Frank Miller, dar e inca rookie in screenwriting si tv series...
