Texas Killing Fields (2011)

bazat pe o poveste adevarata, filmul mi-a atras atentia prin titlu, am crezut ca e legat de franciza TCM (Texas Chainsaw Massacre). Texas Killing Fields e numele dat unei mlastini unde sunt gasite body parts ale unor fete disparute din zona, so million miles from the real killing fields (Cambodia). Filmul se intimpla in Texas inteleg dar e filmat in Louisiana ! Anchetatorii sunt Sam Worthington si Jeffrey Dean Morgan, deci un Avatar/Terminator: Salvation si un Comedian din Watchmen.
Morgan e Ok, Worthington nu mi s-a parut. Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass) e fata adolescenta cu probleme, mama ei disfunctionala e Sheryl Lee (exista si conotatii tip Twin Peaks) si Jessica Chastain e o agenta FBI. Stephem Graham apare intr-un rol secundar si se mai cinta niste piese de blues de The Americans. Muzica atmosferica de Dickon Hinchliffe de la Tindersticks.
Scenariul fostului agent DEA Don Ferrarone, care a fost consultant la filmele lui Tony Scott de data recenta (Deja Vu, Pelhalm 123) si la Miami Vice al lui Mann se poate sa fie Ok, dar regia nu e.
Dar Ami Canaan Mann este fata lui Michael Mann. E al doilea film al ei (a regizat si TV) si a preluat de la taica-su ceva idei, dar asta nu e suficient. Manhunter it ain't si nici macar coerent complet ! Editing muddy, si fragmentat, voit artsy !
Am intles ca regizor trebuia sa fie Danny Boyle si Cannan doar producatoare, dar Boyle ar fi renuntat, zicind ca e "so dark it would never get made".Ei bine, produsul final nu e !
just another entry in the serial killer genre, who already killed itself to death...

concluzie: fata lui Lynch e mai talentata ca fata lui Mann ! apropo de filmul Jennifer-ei Lynch, Surveilance ! Pe Jennifer au bagat-o la Cannes in midnight screenings, pe Mann-a, la Venetia, in competitie (wtf), dar tot nepotism se cheama :)

RIP John Neville

A murit baronul Munchausen :(! John Neville, mare actor de teatru (si film) englez a murit pe 19 noiembrie la Toronto, in Canada, unde se stabilise din anii '70. Avea 86 de ani. A fost o alegere excentrica pentru rolul Munchausen din filmul lui Terry Gilliam din 1988, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, unul din filmele mele preferate, la vremea lui un flop ingrozitor, dar un film excelent, sofisticat si hiper-inteligent, devenit cult instant ! Pentru alti cultisti, Neville este personajul recurent The Well-Manicured Man din serialul (si filmul) X Files !

Darren Aronofsky takes on LULU

Noted film director Darren Aronofsky, who worked on Black Swan and The Wrestler, will direct the next video for LouTallica.
The Metallica/Lou Reed collaboration have chosen “Iced Honey” to be the next song to be give the video treatments. According to a report in FMQB, it will be shot in the San Francisco Bay area and will be available for viewing later this month.
The story quoted Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich as saying, “As if making a record with Lou Reed is not enough, now I get to make a video with Darren Aronofsky, who has been among my very favorite filmmakers since his first movie, Pi.”
Lou hopes Aronofky’s video for song “Iced Honey” off the new record Lulu will be “his Black Swan.“

Martin Scorsese on the Toning Show

Marty a fost la emisiunea lui Jon Stewart pentru a-si promova noul film, Hugo. Asta se intimpla pe 17 noiembrie, zi in care Scorsese a implinit 69 de ani. LMA !
Cei doi discuta despre Georges Melies si Thomas Edison, care i-a dat Calatorie pe luna in America, imbogatindu-se, dar nedindu-i vreun cent inapoi lui Melies. Jon Stewart il numeste pe Edison, "primul pirat video".

HUGO iese in SUA pe 23 noiembrie iar la noi abia pe 13 aprilie 2012. Nu comentez decizia distribuitorilor, impusa de studiouri :( Doar faptul ca e 3D il salveaza de la piratarea totala. Un alt film distribuit tardiv a fost True Grit. Ca dovada, filmul a facut 13.400 de spectatori dupa box-officeul raportat .
